Annie R. Burpo, 75, of East Moline, died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, East Moline. Visitation is one hour prior to service time. Burial is at Hampton Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
She was born Aug. 18, 1936, in New Orleans, La., to Willie and Rosa Lee Marvin. She married Milton Burpo in 1977 in Rock Island. He passed away in 1997.
She worked for East Moline School District No. 37 as a bus monitor. She was a member of the Elks Marion Temple No. 1186 and enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, crocheting and watching the CUBS.
Survivors include her daughters, Sharon Handy, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Angela Banks, Minneapolis; son, Gary Banks, California; grandchildren, Kimberly (Jimmy McKinnon) Lockett, Willie, Regina and Emma Burpo, D Anthony Davis Jr., Deana Wilson, Michael and Marcus Banks; great-grandchildren, James T. Johnson Jr., Litereya Banks, Nathaniel Richardson, Zhanaya Richardson, Tyries Wilson, Sheniquia Wilson, Quayshawn Wilson, Chelsee and Kenesha Howard; great-great-grandchildren, Tristan Johnson and Dhaylen Davis; special friend, Frances Jackson; several cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
