Antoinette "Toni" A. Crew, 73, of Colona, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, at Genesis Medical Center, Silvis. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Visitation will be noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Dayton Corners Cemetery in Colona. Memorials may be made to the family. Antoinette was born Dec. 11, 1940, in Moline, the daughter of Anthony and Doris Brusso Grumadas. She married the love of her life, Lester Crew, Oct. 17, 1959, in East Moline, and has been happily married for 54 years. She was a homemaker and a secretary for her husband at Lester Crew Roofing. Antoinette enjoyed going to the casinos, playing euchre and going to yard sales. She was proud that she was able to donate a kidney to her brother, Adam, before he passed away. Antoinette especially loved spending time with her family and sending birthday cards to everyone she knew. She was a loving and giving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed dearly. Antoinette loved everyone she met and never made an enemy. She collected and surrounded herself with angels and now has become one. Survivors include her husband, Lester, Colona; children, Connie Crew, Lester Jr. (Angela), Ricky (Julie) and Christine (Melvin) Larson, all of Colona; grandchildren, Joshua, Tammy (Mike), Steven (Shelly), Ashley (Ryan) Erichsen, Daniel and Taylor Ann; great-granddaughter, Bella Ray Crew, and one on the way, Ryley Ann Erichsen; siblings, Anthony (Leilani) Grumadas Sr., Ben (Adrena) Grumadas, Doris Grumadas, Judy Dawson, Tommy Grumadas and Diane (James) Wilson; special nieces and nephew whom she took in and raised as her own, Diane Grunwald, Judy Robinson and the late, Butch Yelm. She also is survived by several nieces and nephews. Antoinette was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Adam, Clifford and Robert; and a sister, Lucille Krack.
