Barbara Dennison

Barbara J. Dennison, 82, of Colona, passed away Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, at her home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Schroder Mortuary, Colona. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to First Southern Baptist Church. Barb was born April 27, 1932, in Ava, Mo., the daughter of Royce and Oda Plumb Feemster. She was raised by her mother and stepfather, Tommy R. Robertson. Barb married Rollen K. Dennison on May 23, 1953, in Rock Island. He passed away Oct. 14, 1980. She worked as a secretary at Dr. Albert's office until her retirement in 1992 after 32 years. Barb enjoyed traveling in her younger years and, more recently, attending church and spending time with her family and her close friend, JoAnn Terry. Survivors include her son, Troy Dennison, Colona; her daughter, Pam (Ray) Gall, Elizabethtown, Ky.; grandchildren, Shane (Diana) Rollins, Melissa (Dave) Thompson and Brian (Liz) Dennison; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Gary (Patricia) Robertson, Colona; sister, Freda (Bob) Burnham, Canton, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews. Barb was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather; husband; daughter, Deborah; brothers, Cleon Feemster and Howard Robertson.
