Barbara L. Hillman, 84, of Davenport, formerly of Colona, passed away Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, at Good Samaritan Home, Davenport. Funeral services will be noon Monday with visitation 11 a.m. until service time at Schroder Mortuary in Colona. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Good Samaritan in Davenport. Barbara was born Nov. 11, 1930, in Moline, the daughter of John P. Krantz and Anne Stratton Eckert. She married Howard Hillman Nov. 11, 1949, in Wakeeney, Kan. He passed away June 2, 1997. Barbara loved wintering in Arizona and also enjoyed sewing, quilting and crafts, playing bridge and cards. Survivors include her children, Catherine A. (Martin) Rothschild, Geneseo, Rebekah L. (John) Gayman, Davenport, H. Dale (JoAnne) Hillman, Colona, Deborah L. Van Almen, Davenport, and David L. (Barbara) Hillman; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Twilight A. Kast, Owatonna, Minn.; and brother, Richard J. Krantz, East Moline. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a stepson, Duane Baker; and an infant son, David Martin Hillman. The family would like to thank all the staff at Good Samaritan for the exceptional care given to Barbara.
