Barbara C. Stark

Barbara C. Stark, 80, of Port Byron passed away August 2, 2024 at Illini Restorative Care Center in Silvis. 

Funeral services will be 10:00am Friday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Visitation will be 4-7pm Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Memorials may be made to Faith Walk World Outreach Center or The Oasis. 

Barbara was born December 17, 1943 in Moline, IL the daughter of Frederick and Odetta Hibbs Culley. She received a bachelor’s in education from Illinois State University and a master’s in psychology from Marycrest College. Barbara enjoyed teaching math in the Moline schools for 42 years. After retirement she taught at Black Hawk College for several years. Barbara continued to teach math to everyone she met. She was a member of the UTHS reunion board and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and the multitude of adopted family and friends. 

Survivors include her children Odetta Frommelt, Garry (Kristi) Stark, and Aaron (Adrienne) Stark; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; her best friend Carletta Dykes, and her bonus daughter Sharyn Stone-Foster.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Frederick and Odetta; brothers Richard and Raymond Culley; great grandson Owen and a son in law Cory Frommelt.
