Beatrice I. Schafer Barr Anderson

Beatrice I. Schafer Barr Anderson, 95, of Silvis passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Friendship Manor in Rock Island. 

Per her wishes, she will be cremated, and a private graveside will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to Church of Peace Growth Fund. 

Beatrice was born May 15, 1928 in Rock Island, the daughter of Walter and Anna Schafer. She married Wendell Barr May 18, 1946 in Rock Island. He passed away March 20, 1978. She later married Axel Anderson Jr. July 24, 1982 in California. He passed away January 25, 1990. Beatrice worked at Servus Rubber Company for 35 years as a packer/inspector, retiring in 1984. She was a member of Church of Peace in Rock Island, Lady Elks 556, AARP, Sarah Circle, Ida Kruger Circle, Woman’s Guild, and Older Adults. Beatrice enjoyed flowers, crafts, dancing, crocheting, and serving her family and her cat Stella the 2nd. 

Survivors include her stepson Scott Anderson of Silvis; sister Ruth Allen of Moline; brother Gary Schafer of Carson, CA, and several nieces and nephews. 

Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and an infant daughter Joyce, and a sister Nancy Scott.
