Bernard D. "Pops" Robertson, 82, of Moline, died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at Trinity Rock Island.
Please join the family to celebrate his life from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Private interment will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery.
Bernard was born May 12, 1929, in Minonk, Ill., the son of Daniel and Clara Schleicher Robertson. In 1953, he married Lois Whitehair.
He was a maintenance mechanic for John Deere, retiring in 1995. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, NASCAR and, especially, working on cars in the garage. Mr. Robertson was a member of Church of the Nazarene, Moline. He served in the Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Lois; sons, Mark (Mona) Robertson and Greg (Pat Vermeire) Robertson, all of Moline; grandchildren, Joe (Becca) Robertson, Amy Jacks, Angie (Pat) Linn, Dan (Alisa) Robertson, Bryan Robertson and Abigail Robertson; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Lorna Klenworth, Flanigan, Ill.; and brother, Marvin Robertson, Moline. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bernie; sisters, Lela and Hazel; and brother, Glen.
