Bette Salmonson

Bette J. Salmonson, 85, of Silvis passed away October 29, 2021 at Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline.

Funeral services will be 1pm Wednesday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis with visitation 1 hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.

Bette was born May 28, 1936 in Anamosa, IA the daughter of Walter F. and Hazel (Stanley) Scorpil. She married Marvin Salmonson December 24, 1968 in Hampton, IL. He passed away May 14, 2013. She worked as a waitress in the area and enjoyed counted cross stitching, crafts, baking and cooking. Her passion was feeding the birds and wildlife from her backyard timbers.

Survivors include her children Allen M. (Vickie) Young of Moline; Greg (Julie) Young of Moline, and Kimberly J. (Mike) Tarrant of Oceanside, CA; grandchildren Amber R. DePaepe, Charlie D. Young, Sara Young, Amanda (Mike) Keenan; great grandchildren Taylor, Matthew, William, and Emily Keenan, Cayden Young and identical twins on the way and a sister Judy Bryer of Saratoga, CA.

Bette was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Sue.
