Bettie Anders

Bettie L. Anders, 85, of Silvis, died March 11, 2013, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Thursday, March 14, at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Bettie was born March 11, 1928, in Unionville, Mo., a daughter of Frank and Flora Jimmerson Davis. She married Boyd Anders in 1946; they later divorced. Bettie worked for 24 years at the Rock Island Arsenal as a receiving clerk. She was a member of Eagle Summit Community Church. She enjoyed camping, gardening, her church and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her daughters, Betty (James) Mann, Geneseo, Tina Anders, Silvis; son, Phillip (Judy) Anders, Geneseo; grandchildren, Ashley, Steve, Rick, Christy, Leeann and Jennifer; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Elma Paxton, Tucson, Ariz.; and brothers, Preston (Pat) Davis, Colona, and Doris Davis, Colona. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Coleman Anders; and brothers, Frank and Cecil.
