Beverly Johnson

Beverly J. Johnson, 88, of East Moline passed away October 30, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Andalusia.

Funeral services will be 12 noon Saturday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis with visitation 2 hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.

Beverly was born May 15, 1930 in Moline, IL the daughter of Louis and Arlene Smith VanValkenburg. She married Dean Johnson Oct. 24, 1953 in Silvis. He passed away Aug. 18, 1983. Beverly worked at Illini hospital for over 25 years retiring as Assistant Supervisor of housekeeping. After her retirement she continued to volunteer at the hospital and enjoyed spending time with her pomeranian Barkley. Beverly especially loved spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up.

Survivors include her children JoDene (Maxie) Walker of Littleton, CO, Mark (Cheryl) Johnson of Marion, IL, Joel (Julia Sukach) Johnson of Carbon Cliff and Jeanine (Dennis) Mosher of Andalusia; grandchildren Brandi Walker of Littleton, CO, Andrea (Jake) Osterbur of Cincinnati, OH, Jeannette (Brent) Wallace of East Moline, Amanda (Justin) Eakins of East Moline, Deanae (Denny) Hock of Coal Valley, Christopher (Katie Ollie) Archer of Jacksonville, FL, Leslie (John) Baize of Herrin, IL; great grandchildren Hailey, Aidan Dean, Mason, Josie, Sterling and Addi; brothers Dewey (Peggy) VanValkenburg of Paragould, AR and Everett (Karen Murphy) of Scottsdale, AZ; special friends Judy Lambert and Pat Meyer.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Marlene and sisters Rebecca VanDamme and Betty Hart.
