Beverly Rosenbalm

August 26, 1959 — May 20, 2021

Beverly Jean Rosenbalm, 61, of Cleveland, Illinois passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021 at University Hospital in Iowa City. She died suddenly and peacefully surrounded by close family members.

Visitation and viewing will be Wednesday May 26, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with the funeral immediately following until 7:00p.m. at Schroder Mortuary in Colona. A private graveside burial will be held at a later date.

Beverly was born August 26, 1959 in Geneseo, Illinois, the youngest child of Fred Burton and Viola Frances (Stohl) Peterson. She was the youngest of seven children. She married James Rosenbalm, September 13, 2003 in Moline, IL. They resided in Cleveland, IL in the family home where Bev grew up.

Bev spent her childhood in Cleveland, IL. and was educated in the Geneseo School District. She earned her Associate Degree from Teikyo Marycrest University. She worked and retired from MA Ford in Davenport, IA. Bev was also an entrepreneur starting Bev’s Longarm Quilting in 2016.

Bev had a love of gardening and birdwatching. She also was a great  photographer. Pictures were taken at every family event and her camera bag was never far away from her. She was an avid quilter and donated quilts to Project Linus. She made dozens of baby blankets for that charity for over a decade. Bev loved making personalized keepsake blankets and pillow cases and was able to do so for almost all of her grandchildren. She participated in many quilters groups and classes throughout the area. She loved her quilting business and enjoyed meeting her client’s visions for their quilting ideas.

Bev had a unique and contagious laugh that would light up everyone in the room. Her sense of humor and opinionated thoughts are what made her so easy and fun to be around. She was always quick to help with a problem and provide a solution. She treated everyone as her own, once you entered Bev’s home you were treated as family. She was the family’s event planner and coordinator. Her happiest times were being surrounded by her family and friends. She will forever be remembered and missed by so many people.

She is survived by her husband, Jim, of Cleveland, and six siblings; Burton Peterson of New Windsor, IL. Todd Peterson (Barbara) of rural Cambridge, IL., Elizabeth Engstrom (Roger) of rural Toulon, IL., Mark Peterson of Carman, IL., Loretta Lukens of Highland, UT., and Margaret Abbott, (Bob) of Prescott, AZ.

Beverly has many people in her life to honor her memory, including her three daughters and one son. Renee McClanahan (Jason) of Muscatine, IA,  Abby Freund of Charlotte, IA, Genie Stanley (Josh) of Kewanee, IL and Jamie Rosenbalm (Rianne) of Edgington IL. She was an amazing grandmother to eighteen grandchildren. Sethan, Porscha, Cody, Cohner, Caleigh, Brenton, Rypleigh, Cayson, Bailey, Kaden, Gracy, Catelynn, Ava, Christopher, Matthew, Kinsley, Kyle and Colten.

Memorials may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Beverly Jean Rosenbalms name.

Forever and always in our hearts. She was like the stitches of the quilts she created. She held our family together.
