Billie B. Cruse

Billie B. Cruse, 94, of Silvis passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Illini Restorative Care Center in Silvis. 

Per his wishes, he will be cremated, and a graveside service will be held at a later date at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Unity Point Hospice (1106 19th Avenue, St 101, Moline, IL 61265) or East Moline Legion Post 227 Honor Guard. 

Billie was born November 4, 1929 in Salisbury, MO the son of Raymond and Iris Sleyster Cruse. He married Phyllis “Jean” McCorkle June 30, 1951 in Silvis. She preceded him in death September 15, 2017. He retired from the Army in 1989 after 41 years of service. Billie worked at John Deere for 30 years. He enjoyed building homes, from drawing the blueprints to laying the last brick. He also enjoyed fishing in the Keys. 

Survivors include his children Frank (Becky) Cruse of East Moline; grandchildren Chad (Melissa) Cruse, Crystal (Scott) Farrow, Laura (Mark) Randa, and Ashley (Romeo) Pontereo; great grandchildren Derek, Braden, and Addison Cruse, Payton and Kyler Farrow, and Ethan, Isabelle Randa, and RJ Pontereo. 

Billie was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bobby and Bennie, and son Kenn Cruse.
