Cameron Cavins

Cameron E. Cavins, 20, of Moline passed away October 19, 2022 at University of Chicago Hospital.

A visitation will be 4-7pm Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis followed by a celebration of life at the East End Club in Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Cameron was born September 15, 2002 in Silvis, IL the son of LaTasha Harrison and Chadwick Cavins. He was diagnosed with a heart condition at age 2 and received a heart transplant in 2019. Cameron attended Moline and Durant High Schools where he was able to play basketball and football. He also played baseball and soccer when he was younger. He was a Bears and Cubs fan. He also enjoyed playing bags, collecting and trading sporting cards, and made a ton of friends playing video games. Cameron loved spending time with family and friends. 

Survivors include his mother LaTasha (Travis) Eggers; father Chadwick (Jacque) Cavins; siblings Aiden Cavins, Travis Eggers, Tyler Eggers, Trenton Eggers, Tanner Eggers, Teagan Eggers, Mariah Miller, and Tevin Miller; grandparents Gary (Rose) Cavins, William (Esther) Eggers, and Nola Lopez; several aunts, uncles, and cousins and many close friends.

Cameron was preceded in death by his grandparents Deena Reilley and Earl Harrison and his great grandparents Ida Smith, Theresa Cavins, and Clem Cavins.  

The family would like to thank all the nurses, doctors, and staff at University of Chicago Hospital and Ann & Robert H . Lurie Children’s Hospital for all the care given to Cameron .
