Carl F. Cartwright, 43, of Davenport, died Monday, April 25, 2011, at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport.
Memorial services are 1 p.m. Friday at Third Missionary Baptist Church, Davenport. Burial is at Oakdale Cemetery, Davenport. Memorials may be made to the family.
He was born Sept. 24, 1967, in Peoria, to Carl Sr. and Mary Kyle Cartwright.
Carl was an awesome father who loved his family very dearly. He also enjoyed riding bikes, walking, telling jokes and a home cooked meal.
Survivors include his mother, Mary L. Cartwright; sons, Donovan Cartwright-Nye, Rock Island, and Jaydyn Cartwright-True, Davenport; sisters, Crystal Hughes, East Moline, Bennita Boyd-Collier, Peoria, Barbie Boyd Cartwright, Carbon Cliff, Yolanda Boyd, Dixon, Ill., and Marcia Cartwright, Carbon Cliff; brothers, Brian, Antonio and Ortel Perkins, Davenport, Bennie Smith, California, Bennie Boyd Jr., Decorah, Iowa, and Kylea Cartwright Sr., Davenport; and special friend, Angie Sutton. He was preceded in death by his fathers, Carl Cartwright Sr. and Bennie Boyd Sr.; and grandparents, Marie and Duke Kyle and Pauline and Alpha Boyd; nephew, Mike-Mike Collier.
