Carl C. Clark, 80, of Moline, passed away Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at Heartland Health Care Center in Moline. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Visitation will be two hours before service time with a masonic service at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospitals for Children. Carl was born July 7, 1933, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of William H. and Loraine Schmeltz Clark. He retired from the Air Force, serving in the Korean conflict. He married Beverly Knutson on June 16, 1956, in East Moline. Carl retired after 23 years from John Deere Harvester Works (having worked at Plow/Planter Works) and later retired from Johannes Bus Service. He was a member for 46 years in Silvis Masonic Lodge 4898, 35 years in Valley of Moline Scottish Rite, 35 years in Davenport KAABA Shriners, 33 years in Davenport Mohassen Grotto, 50 years in Thor Lodge 49 of Moline Vikings and American Legion Post No. 246 in Moline. He enjoyed traveling in his RV, boat watching, fishing and gardening. Survivors include his wife, Beverly; daughter, Christine (Bradley) Spears, Justin, Texas; grandchildren, Katrina Spears, Luke AFB, Phoenix, Ariz., Steven and William Spears, Justin, Hannah (Cedrick) Morrison, Lewisville, Texas, Amanda Clark, Columbia, S.C., and Robyn Clark, Greer, S.C.; great-grandchild, Samuel Spears; niece, Cherrie (Ben) Edelstein, Lake Worth, Fla. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles; sister, LaVonna; and son, Christopher.
