Charlotte A. Franklin

Charlotte A. Franklin, 95, of Colona passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at her home in Colona. 

Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, December 20, 2024 at Schroder Mortuary in Colona with visitation 1 hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Unity Point Hospice or Carbon Cliff Fire Department. 

Charlotte was born September 18, 1929 in Iowa City, IA the daughter of Edgar and Genevieve Duahoo Stalkfleet. She married William R. Franklin September 27, 1947 in Davenport, IA. He passed away February 28, 1993. Charlotte most recently worked at Walmart in Moline in the bakery, unloading trucks, as a greeter, and monitoring the dressing rooms. She previously was a nurses aide at Mercy Hospital and unit secretary at Osteopathic Hospital. She also worked at Rocky High School as a teacher’s aide. Charlotte enjoyed NASCAR and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. She also enjoyed reading, especially Patterson, playing on her iPad, collecting willow tree angels and bells, and loved her pet birds and cats. 

Survivors include her children Penny (William) Genung of Cordova, Carol (Jerry) Weisman of Colona, and Sally Jo (Glen) Miller of Fulton, IL; grandchildren Corey (Amanda) Wiesman, Brian (Ashley Erd) Weisman, Sean (Charlene) Genung, Jenny (Chris) Droll, Della (Christopher) Sivright, Tewanta Miller, and Glen Miller III; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild, and her dog Mitzi. 

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Earl Stalkfleet, sister Mary Orendorf, and a great grandson Zachary.
