Christine Buchanan

Christine Lynn Buchanan, 54, Colona, passed away October, 14, 2013 at Genesis Illini Campus, Silvis surrounded by her family. Services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, October 17, 2013 with visitation from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Moline. Memorials may be made to the family. Christine was born September 30, 1959 in Moline, IL. the daughter of Miles A. and Mary Ann Schatz Buchanan. Until health issues made it impossible Chris enjoyed reading and planting flowers. Even after she became ill Chris was always positive, never complaining. She was an amazing mom, kind and generous with a huge heart, always seeing the best in others. Chris loved the holidays and knew the words to every song. Her greatest joy was time spent with her family; nothing made her happier than when a grandchild curled up next to her. Chris was devoted to her work as a CNA at Oak Glen Nursing Home. Survivors include her children, Nicole Boenitz, Park View, IA., Tiffany (John) Buchanan, Colona and Courtney Buchanan, Silvis; Siblings, Deborah (David) Hantz, East Moline, Marcia (Tom) O Connor, Bettendorf and Amy (Al) Masengarb, Silvis; Grandchildren, Austin, Halle, Dakota, Paige and Natalie. She was preceded in death by her parents.
