Dallas C. Murphy, 47, of Davenport, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
A celebration of life will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at First Church of the Nazarene, 1010 N. Clark, Davenport, with the family gathering one hour prior to service time. Memorials may be made to his children.
Dallas was born Dec. 30, 1963, in Davenport, the son of Michael D. and Shirley Ruby Murphy. He owned and operated Mid American Waterproofing Company in the 1990s and later worked for Hawkeye Paving. He enjoyed camping, fishing, go carts and working on old cars. He especially loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his mother, Shirley Nyquist, Milan; his loving companion, Stephanie Krambeck; children, Shane, Shawn, Shad and Shelby Murphy, all of Davenport; grandchildren, Ariella and Shawn II, both of Davenport; stepmother, Cheryl Murphy; siblings, Eric Murphy, Barb Sindt, Kelly (Mike) Vickers, Rennie (Chuck) Stephens, Kathleen (Eddie Sindt) Murphy and Billie Murphy; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and the mother of his children, Carolyn Murphy. Dallas was preceded in death by his father; a grandson, Jordan; and a brother, Thomas.
