Dan Dzekunskas, 62, of Colona, passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Per his wishes, there will be no services, and cremation rites will be accorded.
Dan was born March 11, 1950, in Stanley, Wis., the son of John and Charlotte Clark Dzekunskas. He married Laurel Nicely Sept. 29, 1973, in Port Byron.
He worked at Case New Holland as a union steward for more than 15 years and a fork lift driver until retiring in August 2004. Dan loved golfing, fishing and walking his dog, Chopper, stopping to visit all of his and Chopper's friends along the way. He was also a devoted Green Bay Packers fan.
Survivors include his wife, Laurel, Colona; son, Dan II, Colona; siblings, Tom (Louise), East Moline, Michael, Moline, Vickie (Alan) Houck, Davenport, Tony, Moline, and Tim (Julie), Moline; brother-in-law, Jim (Agnes) Nicely, Allen, Texas; and sister-in-law, Julie (Roth) Naert, Urbandale, Iowa; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents; son, Brian; brother, John Paul; sister-in-law, Kathleen; and mother-in-law, Mary (Gram) Nicely.
