Dannie "Dan" W. Allen, 62, of Silvis passed away suddenly March 23, 2016 at Genesis Medical Center Illini Campus. Funeral services will be 11am Wednesday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Moline with visitation 1 hour prior to service time. Visitation will be 4-7pm Tuesday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's. Dan was born Aug. 31, 1953 in Moline, IL the son of Walter and Blanche Nadine Fritz Allen. He married Penni Sullivan Oct. 20, 1990 in Moline. Dan retired from John Deere Davenport Works Jan. 31, 2005 as a weld inspector. He enjoyed making models, WWII history, classic cars, detailing cars, vacationing in Las Vegas and spending time with family and friends. He was a Dallas Cowboys Fan since childhood. Survivors include his wife Penni; daughters Stacy (Kyle) Curry, Jennifer (Gus) Gripp and Becky Allen; 6 grandchildren with the 7th on the way in June; sisters Kathy (Jim) Holcomb and Connie McKean and several nephews. Dan was preceded in death by his parents.
