Darrell “Bruce” Madden, 79, of Silvis passed away November 25, 2023 at his home.
Per his wishes, Bruce will be cremated. A visitation will be 4-7pm Friday at St. Mark’s Anglican Church in Silvis. A memorial service will be 11:00am Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to the family.
Bruce was born February 15, 1944 in Belvidere, IL the son of Jack and Beverly Ehle Madden. He married Diane Goolsby October 5, 2002 in Silvis. Bruce and his father owned the Ship’s Wheel on Campbell’s Island in the early 1960’s. He worked as a chef before joining the Machinist Union and working as a pattern maker. He retired in 2001 form from Wessels Pattern in Moline.
Bruce enjoyed fishing, especially with his son, dabbling in stained glass and working in his yard. Bruce loved God and was an active member of St. Mark’s Anglican Church and was a faithful sponsor in AA. He loved spending time with his friends and family.
Survivors include his wife Diane; son Todd (Suzanne) Madden; grandchildren Kayla, Brandon, and Devon; great grandchildren; sister Mary Beth (John) Dindia and brother Mike Madden.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Roxanne Peppers.
