Darryl "Uncle Doe Doe" Sullivan, 53, of Colona, began his new journey with his loved ones in heaven on July 2, 2013, in Coal Valley.
A Celebration of Life will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, at Green River United Methodist Church in Colona. A luncheon will be served at Indian Trails Resort clubhouse following the celebration. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family of Darryl Sullivan. Schroder Mortuary, Colona, is handling arrangements.
Darryl was born May 2, 1960, in Gary, Ind., the son of Donald C. and Deanna M. Day Sullivan. He grew up in Level Acres in Colona. He graduated from JD Darnell High School in Geneseo.
Darryl worked at Modular Furniture Services on the Rock Island Arsenal for over 20 years. Prior to that he drove a taxi in Bloomington, Ill., and was an OTR driver. He enjoyed racing, karting, music and antique and flea market shopping. His greatest love was his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his parents, Donald and Deanna Sullivan, Colona; children, Amanda (Victor Alvarez) Sullivan and Adam (Melisa) Sullivan, both of Bloomington; granddaughters, Amya and Maison, Bloomington, and a third granddaughter Malia on the way; brother, Donnie (Jamie) Sullivan, Colona; sisters, Denise (Gabe) Schmidtlein and Dina (Dusty Werner) Anderson, both of Colona; and several cousins, nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
