David W. Jones

David W. Jones, 80, of Silvis passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, October 19, 2023.

Funeral services will be 11am Friday, October 27, 2023 at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Visitation will be 4-7pm Thursday with a masonic service at 7pm at the mortuary. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Christ Church Quad Cities Silvis Campus, Christ Church Quad Cities Food Pantry Silvis Campus, or Silvis Masonic Lodge No. 898.  

David was born August 15, 1943 in Moline, Illinois the son of William and Irene Stout Jones. He married Linda Habben July 11, 1970 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. David retired from John Deere Harvester as an Industrial Crane Operator. He was a member of Silvis Masonic Lodge No. 898. He was a certified Lodge Instructor and served as Worshipful Master of several local lodges. David enjoyed repairing things, attending antique car shows with his antique truck, and electrical work.

Survivors include his wife Linda, daughter Jennifer A. (Mike) Jones of Rock Island, grandchildren Zaida (Peyton) Bradley and Zoe Bradley, great grandchildren Mina and Eila Mahmutovic, and siblings Deana K. DeRoo and Darla R. Rist.

David was preceded in death by his parents.
