David J. Stewart, of Cleveland, Ill., passed away Thursday, June 30, 2011, at Rosewood Care Center, Moline.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Schroder Mortuary, Colona. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Stewart family. Inurnment will be at Roselawn Cemetery, Moline, at a later date.
David was born May 24, 1936, in Mountain View, Ark., the son of Jeff and Beatrice Stewart. He married Carole Kave on Oct. 5, 1957, in East Moline.
David attended Mountain View High School. He retired from Sivyer Steel in Bettendorf, after 30 years. He was the president of Local UAW 371 for nine years.
Survivors include his wife, Carole; daughter, Anola; and granddaughter, April.
David was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mathew; and brother, Jesse.
