David Wirfs

David M. Wirfs, 66, of Hillsdale passed away March 3, 2021 at his home.

A memorial service will be 3pm Wednesday, March 17, 2021 with visitation 2 hours prior to service time at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. In accordance with public gathering guidelines, social distancing will be observed as well as capacity limits followed within the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to PAWS Humane Society of Moline.

David was born October 14, 1954 in Portsmouth, OH the son of Thomas and Anna Matlock Wirfs. He served in the US Navy. David married Connie Nelson Wallace May 2, 1998 in Moline. He worked as a quality control engineer in the nuclear power industry. He loved to travel, enjoyed fishing, and was a Cincinnati Reds fan.

Survivors include his wife Connie; son Allen (Megan) Wirfs; stepchildren David (Cody) Wallace and Melissa Bonner; stepdaughter Melissa Forbes; step son Brian Smith; grandchildren Aurora Wirfs and DJ Wirfs; step grandchildren Christian and Ashleigh and a sister Lynn (Bill) Keithlin.

David was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Helena, and brothers Tom and James.
