Dawn M. Morris

Dawn M. Morris, 56, of East Moline passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 5, 2025 after a short, unexpected illness.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday at Christ United Methodist Church in East Moline. Visitation will be 4-7pm Thursday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Memorials may be made to Christ Church, Quad Cities Animal Welfare Center, or Rescued.

Dawn was born August 14, 1968 in Moline, IL the daughter of Robert and Dolores Viager Morris. She Graduated from UTHS in 1986 and continued to college, completing her Medical Transcription Certification. Dawn worked for 34 years as a medical transcriptionist at Trinity, Genesis, and Vera French. She also worked at Genesis Lab, which was a job she held dear to her heart. 

Dawn was an animal lover, volunteering at the Quad Cities Animal Welfare Center and Pat's Bandits, a raccoon rescue, for several years. She highly valued "Rescued", Which is an organization donates to pets in need of medical care and in local shelters. She was certified in the TNR (trap, neuter, release) program and over the years adopted countless rescue pets. Dawn enjoyed participating in numerous local runs including Mutt Strut and Bix 7. She was a season ticket holder for the QC Mallards for several years, which led to lifelong friendships. Dawn also enjoyed gardening and flowers.

Survivors include her siblings Linda Morris, Karen Morris, Michael (Alice) Morris, and Lisa (Todd) Cantrell; nephews and niece Robert Conner, Alex Morris, Collin, Kylie, and Dylan Cantrell.

Dawn was preceded in death by her parents.
