Delores "Jean" Alexander, 76, of Silvis, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at her home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Heartstrings of Heritage Wesleyan Church. Jean was born Feb. 26, 1937, in Moline, to Oscar and Elsie Johnson Inskeep. She married Kermit Alexander on Dec. 25, 1958, in Moline. She worked at the Captain's Table as a cook from 1979 until 1987. She also cleaned houses. Jean enjoyed reading, yard work and was a Cub Scout leader. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and her dog, PJ. Jean was a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church, East Moline, and currently an active member at Heritage Wesleyan Church in Rock Island, where she enjoyed being involved with Heartstrings. Jean is survived by her husband, Kermit; sons, Robert (Melanie) Alexander, Barstow, and Allen (Kathy) Alexander, East Moline; five grandchildren, Kerie Mora, Samantha Alexander, Colton Alexander, Maranda Alexander and Brandon Alexander; three great-grandchildren; sister, Donna (Don) Russell, Arizona; brother Dale (CJ) Inskeep, California; brother-in-law, Jim Grizzle, Moline.
