Don Brown

Don F. Brown, 81, of Moline, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport. Funeral services will be noon Thursday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis, with visitation one hour before service time. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family. Don was born Dec. 17, 1932, in Calvin, Okla., the son of Rufus and Luna Trip Brown. He married Lila Jane Walker on May 11, 1957. She passed away Aug. 12, 2002. He retired from IBEW Local 145. Don loved his dog, Lady, and his granddaughter to his fullest. He was a very hard worker and enjoyed going to the casino and being outdoors. Survivors include his granddaughter, Mary Brown, of Moline; his dog, Lady; special friend, Kathy Kirkpatrick; sisters, Joyce Roach and Loretta; brother, Roy Brown; and many nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his wife; son, Leonard; and two brothers, Billy and Herbert.
