Donald Sharp

Donald Sharp, 78, of Silvis, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at his home. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Memorial services will be Thursday at 7 p.m. Memorials can be made to Wildwood Baptist Church, East Moline. He was born Jan. 23, 1934, in Moline, to John and Verna Bowles Sharp. He married Idella Schisler, Oct. 23, 1994, in Galesburg. Don was a carman for the Rock Island Lines, Chicago, Iowa Interstate, and retired from Burlington Northern in 1996. He was an avid hot rodder, received several trophies and was a member of the Rod Devils, Port Byron. Survivors include his wife, Idella; children, Bruce Sharp, Brian Sharp, Terry Sharp, Amy (Dennis) Nelson and Rod Sharp; four grandchildren; three great-grandsons; brothers, James L. Sharp and David Sharp. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Robert.
