Doris D. Black Copelan, 78, of Maricopa, Ariz., passed away Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, at her home in Arizona.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of the Valley in Arizona.
Doris was born March 13, 1932, in Hillsdale, the daughter of James and Mildred Shimer Black. She married Dale Copelan on July 18, 1950, in Rapids City.
Doris was a former member of the East Moline Four Square Church. She was a devoted friend, sister and wife. Most of all she was the best mom anyone could ask for.
Survivors include sons, Steve Copelan, Michael (Mary) Copelan, Duane (Mary) Copelan and Kevin Copelan, daughters, Joan Steele and Lorie Copelan, all of Maricopa; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, James (Delores) Black, Davenport; sister, Norma (Fred) Miller, Moline.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Brian Copelan; a grandson, Cameron; and a great-grandson, Zander.
