It became an annual tradition that Irene would heat up the kitchen and fill orders for peanut brittle in November and December. In her record year she made nearly 800 batches. Survivors include her daughter, Joyce A. Lee and son-in-law, Robert E. Lee, Greensboro, N.C. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; two sisters; her husband; a daughter, Jacque; and grandson, Justin Lee.
