Dorothea M. DeMont, 91, of East Moline, passed away Oct. 11, 2014, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the mausoleum at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Memorials may be made to Hope Creek Care Center. Dorothea was born Sept. 15, 1923, in East Moline, the daughter of Gust and Myrtle Briley Muzos. She graduated from United Township High School, East Moline. She married George DeMont on Oct. 1, 1942, in East Moline. He passed away Oct. 12, 2004. She enjoyed bowling and playing bingo and was an avid Cubs fan. Survivors include her daughter, Peggy (Rollin) Hearn, Moline; grandchildren, Lorie (John) Campos, Wheaton, Ill., Tom (Marcia) Adams, Texas, Brad DeMont, East Moline, and Adam (Lorraine) DeMont, Chicago; stepgrandchildren, Jeff Hearn, Maryland, and Holly Hearn, Florida; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, JoAnn (Gene) Creighton, Ohio; sister-in-law, Julia Muzos, Silvis; and a brother-in-law, Ralph (Rosalie) DeMont, California. Dorothea was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents; brother, Ralph; and son, Dwight. The family would like to thank the staff of Hope Creek Care Center for Mom's special care.
