Dorothy A. Rowe, 92, of Silvis, died on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice or Hampton United Methodist Church. She was born on Dec. 29, 1920, in Moline. She married Oliver E. Rowe on May 9, 1940, in Davenport. He passed away on Jan. 8, 2002. She retired from Montgomery Elevator. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing baby quilts and loved making cookies and divinity candy. She also was the first woman to receive man of the year. Survivors include her sons, Warren (Donna) Rowe, Siloam Springs, Ark., Arlon (Sherry) Rowe, McAlister, Okla.; foster daughter, Pam (Gary) Sieverin, Centennial, Colo.; grandchildren, David (Sally) Rowe, Rock Island, Anthony (Julia), McAlister, Susan (Jim) Woodison, Fridley, Minn., Chris (April) Woods, Kewanee, Jennifer Woods, Kewanee; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and two on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandchildren, Kenneth, Tammy and Kurt; sister, Margaret; and brother, Charles.
