Dorothy Wilkinson

Dorothy M. Wilkinson, 89, of East Moline, passed away Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Wildwood Baptist Church, East Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to Hope Creek Care Center or Genesis Hospice. Dorothy was born Feb. 23, 1924, in Dallas, Iowa, daughter of William and Ruth Fletcher Rogers. She married Frederick Wilkinson on Oct. 3, 1947, in East Moline. He passed away March 23, 1988. Dorothy was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church, East Moline. She enjoyed spending time with her church family and loved embroidering. Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl (Jack) Heimburger; grandchildren, Jack Jr. (Josephine), Jason, and Rachel (James) Piper; great-grandchildren, Natalia Heimburger and Alexander Piper. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband and four brothers.
