Edna Daniels, 83, of East Moline, died March 9, 2013 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. Burial is at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Hope Creek. She was born June 20, 1929 in Moline, daughter of Charles and Flora Walther Collis. She married Eugene Higgerson and later married Chuck Daniels. Edna worked at Younkers for 20 years, Eagles warehouse in Milan, Licorice factory in Moline and John Deere Harvester. She loved camping, traveling, walking, sitting in the sun, dancing, but most of all she loved being a mom, grandma and great-grandma. Survivors include her sons, Ron (JoAnna) Higgerson, East Moline, Don (Patsy) Higgerson, Rio, Ill.; grandchildren, Jeff, Jody, Julie, Jared, Alisha and Ashley; five great-grandchildren and one on the way; siblings, Jack (Mary Ellen) Collis, Robert (Linda) Collis, and David Collis Sr. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and four brothers. The family would like to thank Hope Creek Care Center and the Memory Care Unit second floor nurses and staff for the care and love they showed Mom.
