Elizabeth "Betty" DeBruine, 85, of Silvis, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Silvis. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis with a rosary at 4 p.m. Burial is at St. Mary's Cemetery in East Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society
Betty was born Feb. 4, 1927, in Edwardsville, Ill., to Paul and Edna Eilers Kniser. She married Frank DeBruine in 1946 in Rock Island. He passed away in 1999.
She was a floral designer for many years at Churuvia's and Country Greenery. She loved painting, wallpapering and decorating.
Survivors include her son, Paul (Cynthia) DeBruine, of Geneseo; grandchildren, Emily (Doug) DeCubellis, of Coventry, Rhode Island, Elizabeth Pedroza, of Dallas, Texas, and Jon DeBruine, of Kansas City, Mo.; a great-grandson, Andrew DeCubellis; constant companion, William "Jeff" Heatherly and his daughters and their families. She was preceded her husband; and sisters, Shirley Engholm, Helen O'Brien and Paulette Schuck.
