Elizabeth Weninger, 89, of East Moline, died March 21, 2012, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Memorial services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Christ the King Church, Moline. Memorial visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Burial is at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
She was born Feb. 4, 1923, in Hague, N.D., to Anselm and Catherine Nold.
She married Frank Weninger June 5, 1941, in Hague.
She was a member of Christ the King Church, Moline.
Elizabeth loved reading, dancing, playing cards, gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching the hummingbirds from her front window as they gathered nectar from her feeders she had set out.
Survivors include her children, James Weninger, Illinois, Jane McCormick, Oklahoma, Steve (Virgie) Wenninger, Illinois, Richard (Therese) Wenninger, North Dakota, Dennis (Linda) Wenninger, Illinois, Floyd (Laurella) Weninger, Arizona, Randy Wenninger, Arizona, Rodney Weninger, Illinois, Julie (Thomas) Bergstrand, Massachusetts, Tina (Stephen) Alexander, Florida, Betty (Don) Disterhoft, Illinois, Rose Mercer, Illinois; siblings, Victoria Schumacher, North Dakota, Lillian (Vernon) Lipp, South Dakota, and Ervin (Barbara) Nold, North Dakota; 23 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Frank Weninger in 1987.
