Emmie M. Blackwell, 91, of Milan, passed away Monday, June 2, 2014, at Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 5, at Schroder Mortuary, Colona. Visitation will be two hours before service time. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Emmie was born Nov. 16, 1922, in Belleview, the daughter of Charles and Alta Elsie Kaysinger Zumwalt. She married Harry R. Blackwell on Nov. 1, 1941, in Clarksville, Mo. He passed away March 18, 1998. Emmie was a member of UAW 1304 and Milan American Legion Post 569. Survivors include her son, Harry Blackwell Jr., Neponset; daughter, Joyce Arnold-Jones, Laughlin, Nev.; grandchildren, Lisa Blackwell, East Moline, Michelle Williams, Milan, and Shane Blackwell, Neponset; great-grandchildren, Josephine Williams, Stacey Williams and Dustin Blackwell; great-great-granddaughters, Bella and Emmie; sister, Gracie Wyatt, Clarksville. She was preceded in death by her husband; grandchildren, Brian White and Pamela Lough; and a great-grandson, Adam White.
