Erma T. Fakas, 90, of Silvis passed away December 31, 2017 at Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline.
Funeral services will be 1pm Friday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Visitation will be 4-7pm Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.
Erma was born April 30, 1927 in Moline, IL the daughter of Homer and Alice Masscho Heyvaert. Earlier in life she was married to Jack Durling. She later married William Fakas Oct. 16, 1976 in East Moline. He passed away Aug. 30, 2005. Erma retired from at John Deere and enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, camping, fishing and gardening.
Survivors include her sons David (Sharon) Durling; and James Durling; step son John (Cynthia) Fakas and a sister Mary Redman.
Erma was preceded in death by her parents; husband and a brother Robert Hayvaert.
The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice Campassus, Hope Creek Care Center and Erma's neighbor Linda for all the care given to Erma and her family.
