Ethel J. Scott, 92, of Crosstown Square, Silvis, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Visitation is 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis, with a graveside service to follow at Moline Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to ARC of the Quad Cities.
She was born Jan. 19, 1920, in East Moline, to Edward and Edith Nelson Rosene. She married Albert Scott on May 16, 1943, in Cutler, Ill. Albert died Sept. 11, 2005.
Ethel was a homemaker and loving mother. She was a member and the first female president of the Silvis Optimist Club, a member of Plus 60, Sew and So Club, Mother's Club of ARC, Silvis Women's Club. Ethel loved fishing, reading and playing bingo and bridge at Crosstown Square.
Survivors include her daughters, Janis (Todd) Haugen, East Moline, and Connie Zogg, Moline; sons, Richard (Hang) Scott, Silvis, Harvey (Mary) Scott, East Moline, and Jeffrey Scott, Moline; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Lydia Pearson, Violet Goering and Edna Pitcher; four brothers, Arnold Rosene, Arthur Rosene, Laverne Rosene and Arvid Rosene
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at Crosstown Square, Illini Hospital, Dr. Dadhaniya's office, Illini Restorative Care, Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House and all those who touched her life.
