Eufrasia M. Soliz, 95, of Silvis, passed away June 2, 2015, at her home in Silvis. A funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis with a rosary at 7 p.m. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family. Eufrasia was born March 11, 1920, in Silao, GTO, Mexico, the daughter of Apolonio and Maria Mata Hernandez. She married Augustine G. Soliz July 20, 1949, in Silao, GTO. He passed away Aug. 8, 1986. Eufrasia was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, sewing and listening to her Mexican music. She was an active member of the Alter and Rosary Society at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Silvis. Survivors include her children Claro (Cathy) Soliz, Tomas (Sheilah) Soliz, Margaret Guajardo, Teresa Soliz, Edmundo (Lorena) Soliz, Isabel Sanchez, Margarito Soliz, Frank Soliz, Tanilo Soliz and Guadalupe Soliz; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Eufrasia was preceded in death by her parents; husband; children Paul Soliz and Mary McGaughlin; and 12 siblings.
