Florence M. Bloomquist, 80, of Fulton, died Jan. 24, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center, Clinton, Iowa.
Per her wishes, there will be no services and her body will be cremated.
She was born Jan. 23, 1931, in Moline, to Michael and Veneta Takantjas Polios. She attended United Township High School and graduated from St. Katharine's in Davenport. She also graduated from Marycrest College.
She married Harold Charles Bloomquist July 24, 1951. He passed away Jan. 2, 1992.
She worked at the Illinois Quad City Chamber of Commerce, retiring after 28 years. She loved cooking and watching the wildlife in the country.
Survivors include her children,George H. Bloomquist and G.V. Bloomquist; grandson, Michael J. Bloomquist; brother, George M. Polios; nieces and nephews, Julie Polios, Michelle Schmidt, Stephanie Plourde and Jason Polios. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Michael S. Bloomquist; daughter-in-law, Tina Bloomquist; aunt, Foula Simotas; sister, Anne Kimionis; and a brother, Spero M. Polios.
