Francis J. Taylor, 95, of Davenport passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. 

Per his wishes, there will be no services and cremation rites will be accorded. 

Francis was born December 9, 1928 in Anamosa, IA the son of Jay and Lena (Eye) Taylor. He married Betty DeMoss September 10, 1948 in Anamosa, IA. She passed away May 19, 1983. He later married Caroline Forrester November 8, 1985 in Carbon Cliff, IL. Francis served in the Army during WWII. He most recently retired from the Rock Island Arsenal. He previously worked for Clinton Engines in Maquoketa, IA, Fairbanks Morse in East Moline, and was a plant manger at Bear Manufacturing in Rock Island. Francis was a coach for Silvis Little League and enjoyed sports, especially golf, football, and little league baseball. 

Survivors include his wife Caroline Taylor; children Barbara (Steve) Wild, Carol (Mark) Collins, Linda Shaw, and Gary (Olivia) Taylor; grandchildren Beckee (Ricardo) Harris, Garrett (Jessica) Taylor, Bethanee (Rick) Powell, Michael (Travis) Taylor, Leslie (Shawn) Luster, Stephanie (Matt) Sutton, Ryan (Sandy) Wild, Lindsay (Cory) Harrison, Brandon (Karlynn) Shaw, Aaron DeLaRosa, Andrell DeLaRosa, and Andrico DeLaRosa; great grandchildren Analee Harris, Yasmeen Harris, Braylon Harris; Sonny Taylor, Andee Oppendike, Charlee Oppendike, Ryker Harrison, C.T. Sutton, Cooper Sutton, Grace Wild, and Bailey Wild, and a brother Laverne Taylor. 

Francis was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty Louise Taylor, and a great grandson Kendall DeLaRosa.
