Frederick Edward Bowers, 64, of East Moline, passed away Dec. 24, 2014, at home, surrounded by his family and friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday 10:30 a.m. at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Burial will follow at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be Monday 4 to 7 p.m at the mortuary. Memorials may be left to the family. Fred was born Oct. 27, 1950, in Davenport, the son of Frederick and Doris Andrews Bowers. He married Charlene Kelley on Sept. 28, 2011. He was a 1969 graduate of Bettendorf High School. Fred worked at R&I Fabrication in East Moline until the business closed. He enjoyed going on road trips with Charlene, collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia, working on his cars and trucks, spending time with his grandchildren and helping others when he was able. Survivors include his loving wife, Charlene; daughters, Stacey (Rob) Lofgren and Sheila (Lyndal) Kelley, all of Colona; three grandchildren, Logan, Landyn and Lily; his mother, Doris (Jim) Anderson, of Geneseo; his mother-in-law, Betty Smashey, of Colona; sister, Pam (Mike) Anderson, of Hennepin, Okla.; stepbrother, Tim Anderson, of Geneseo; one nephew, Gabe (Shari) Anderson, of Geneseo; one niece, Amy (Dave) Johnson, of Viola. His father preceded him in death.
