Fredrick Garcia

Fredrick D. Garcia, 63, of Silvis passed away June 2, 2019 at Illini Restorative Care Center in Silvis.

A funeral mass will be 10am Saturday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Silvis. Visitation will be 4-7pm Friday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Entombment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in East Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Fredrick was born January 7, 1956 in Moline, IL the son of Joseph and Lupe Picon Garcia. He worked for Sodexo at John Deere Harvester. Fredrick enjoyed playing in dart and pool leagues, tinkering and building just about anything, and could repair any type of car. He also loved watching EWTN and jamming to the blues.

Survivors include his son Douglas Garcia; granddaughters Cayla, Ashlee, and Lauryn; 1 great granddaughter; siblings Joseph (Angie) Garcia, Rosie (Ernie) Burnett, Trish (Mike) Desseyn, Daniel (Joyce) Garcia, Cyndi (Dan) Killian, Debra (Tim) Vruble, and Lori (Mike) Tharp and several nieces and nephews.

Fredrick was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Angel.
