George White Sr., 71, of Rock Island, passed from this life on Monday, March 28, 2011, at his home.
Services are 11 a.m. today at The Living Word Ministry Church of God in Christ, Moline, with visitation one hour prior.
George White Sr. was born on Oct. 31, 1939, in Memphis, Tenn., to parents Tom and Rosie White.
George was a minister and was an active member of Living Word Ministry Church of God in Christ, Moline. He worked at JI Case, Bettendorf, retiring in 1995, after 27 years of service. He enjoyed playing his electric guitar, listening to gospel music, was an avid fisherman and a lover of sports. He dearly enjoyed his family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Michael, Anthony (Shane), George Jr., and Eric, and daughter, Patricia, all of Rock Island; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janice White, and his second wife, Ethel McCall White.
