Geraldine "Geri" Horton

Geraldine “Geri” Ann Horton, 85, of Moline passed away November 10, 2024, surrounded by family, at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. 

Funeral services will be 2pm Friday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis with visitation 2 hours prior to service time. Burial will be in Carbon Cliff Cemetery. A celebration of life following services, location TBD, please check Facebook for updates. Memorials may be made to the family. 

Geraldine was born March 4, 1939 in Rock Island, IL the daughter of Carl and Ruth Lowther. She married Otto Earl Horton Jr. April 18, 1957. He passed away November 25, 1998. Geraldine was a career mother. As a mother of 10 children, she loved cooking, cleaning, and honoring her Lord and Savior. 

Survivors include her children Steve Grover, Shirley A. Waters, Carl L. Horton, Timothy L. Horton, Joseph M. Horton, Chris M. Horton, Jerry L. Horton, and Bonnie K. Pierce. She was blessed with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Also surviving are her aunt Frieda and uncle Carl. 

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons Lonnie Horton and Otto Horton III, a granddaughter, brothers Dale and Jack, and sisters Cora, Virginia, and Betty.
