Gertrude Rosene

Gertrude P. Rosene, 96, of Rock Island passed away Jan. 24, 2013 at Genesis Medical Center Davenport. Per her wishes services and burial are private. Gertrude was born April 2, 1916 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the daughter of George and Rose Janda Holcomb. She married Ralph Raymond and later married Arvid Rosene in 1968. He passed away March 3, 2002. Gertrude worked as a buyer for Bendix Corp. She was an organist and enjoyed playing cards, traveling, gardening, sewing, music and dancing. Survivors include her daughters Barbara (Lawrence) Peinert of Davenport and Gail (John Leslie) Soth of Jefferson City, MO; grandchildren Brenda Miller, Robert Peinert, Julie Martin and Angela McNett; 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, parents and a sister Margaret Lopeta.
