Gladys I. Reeser, 91, of Colona, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012, at Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis, with the Rev. Chris Ritter of Colona United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation is noon until service time. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Colona United Methodist Church, where she was a member for 60 years.
Gladys was born Dec. 18, 1920, in Colona, daughter of Roy and Cleo Brokaw. She married Wayne Reeser Dec. 21, 1940, in Bettendorf. He preceded her in death in 1986.
Gladys formerly was employed at Younkers in SouthPark Mall for 16 years, retiring in 1991. She was a 50-year member and past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star.
Gladys is survived by daughter, Connie Chrisop, Geneseo; sons, Jerry, East Moline, and Brian, Colona; granddaughter, Renae Prentler; grandson, Darren Chrisop; and great-granddaughter, Olivia Chrisop.
The family would like to give special thanks to David Biggs and Marilyn Schaab for being such special friends and to the staff at Illini Restorative Care Center for the tender loving care given to mother during her stay. Gladys will be remembered by her family as a very caring and loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters, May Clark and Lucille England.
