Gloria Sappington, 68, of East Moline, passed away Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. today at the mortuary. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
Gloria was born Dec. 7, 1943, in Moline, the daughter of Eugene and Elizabeth Buller Inman. She married Jesse Sappington, in 1964, in Moline. He passed away on Sept. 18, 2010.
Gloria enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, baking and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Jesse, Charles, James (Michele), Thomas and Scott (Adrianna) Sappington; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; uncle, Bob Buller and her stepfather, Al Castel. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers and a grandson, Timothy Sappington.
